Mindfulness for Practitioners

Mindfulness for Practitioners

19AugAll DayMindfulness for Practitioners A workshop for clinical and personal well being(All Day: Sunday)(GMT+00:00) suite 201/308 Pacific Highway Crows Nest

Event Details

This one day workshop will offer therapists a space to explore mindfulness in both clinical practice and personal life.

Grounded in Gestalt psychotherapy and Theravadan Buddhist Meditation practice, Declan and Martina will facilitate an experiential workshop offering participants guided meditations, group process, and two distinct and specific practices emanating from Compassionate Focused Therapy and Insight Dialogue, respectively.

With the overwhelming evidence we currently have from research on mindfulness and its positive  neurobiological effects, this workshop will benefit mental health clinicinas who want to increase self-care and self-regulation and decrease the tendency toward stress, vicarious trauma and burn out.

Drawing from Compassionate Focused Therapy, this workshop will articulate a model for applying compassion to both self and other, for personal and clinical use, sharing some practices and clinical interventions.

Participants will be invited into an interactive experience of mindful dialogue through group work, designed to support the observation of self and other. Guidelines will be shared which will be applicable to both the self of the therapist in clinical practice and the self of the therapist in his/her personal relationships.
